María del Carmen Bousada de Lara (5 January 1940 – 11 July 2009) was a Spanish woman who gained worldwide attention when, at the age of 66, she became the world's oldest mother on 29 or 30 December 2006, when she gave birth to twins. She later became an outspoken advocate for the rights of older mothers and a subject of considerable controversy.
